The Cochin Carnival 2024, an annual spectacle of culture and celebration, is gearing up for its 41st edition, promising two weeks of unforgettable festivities in Fort Kochi, Kerala. Mark Your Dates: December 8 to December 31, 2024

The festivities begin on December 8 with a solemn tribute to war heroes at St. Francis Church, followed by the official flag-hoisting ceremony on December 15 at Vasco da Gama Square. The Carnival culminates on New Year’s Eve, with the traditional burning of the Papanji, a 50-foot effigy symbolizing the farewell to the old year, at the Fort Kochi Parade Ground.

Exciting New Features for 2024

This year’s Carnival introduces robo-electric elephants, combining technological innovation with Kerala’s traditional elephant processions. From December 20 onwards, the event will feature:

• Live performances by popular artists like Nadirsha, Sooraj Santhosh, and Anju Joseph.

• Music festivals and DJ parties creating a dynamic, festive atmosphere.

• Colorful floats and masquerades, adding charm to the cultural parades.
