The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi has announced the introduction of Thailand's Electronic Visa (E-Visa) system in India, marking a significant shift in the visa application process. This system, which includes an offline payment option, will officially come into effect on January 1, 2025.
The embassy confirmed the development through a statement shared on its social media platform, X, stating:
"We’re thrilled to announce that Thailand’s e-Visa will be implemented in India from 1 Jan 2025. However, the 60-day visa exemption for Indian passport holders remains effective."
How to Apply for Thailand's E-Visa
The E-Visa system simplifies the application process for non-Thai nationals. Follow these steps:
Visit the official website: Official Website of Thailand Electronic Visa .
Submit your application either personally or through a representative.
Note: Ensure all application details are complete. The embassy and consulate-generals will not be responsible for incomplete submissions by representatives.Choose an offline payment option for the visa fee. Details regarding payment methods will be provided by the respective embassy or consulate-general.
Wait for processing, which typically takes 14 working days from the date the visa fee receipt is issued.
Key Deadlines for Current Visa Applications
Ordinary Passports: Applications under the existing system must be submitted to designated visa processing companies by December 16, 2024.
Diplomatic and Official Passports: Submit applications to the embassy or consulate-general by December 24, 2024.
Visa Exemption for Indian Passport Holders
The 60-day visa exemption for tourism and short business trips for Indian ordinary passport holders will remain in effect until further notice, providing continued flexibility for travelers.

The visa fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
